View detailed Fire Weather Forecast information direct from the Bureau of Meteorology in an easy-to-understand format on your iPhone. The app. takes the raw data from the Bureau and calculates the Fire Danger Rating for each region of the state. It also allows you to view detail within the regions.
This app. allows you to PLAN AHEAD for upcoming high fire risk days and prepare early. For example, if you live in a designated high fire risk area, you can use the app. to predict when the local schools will be closed up to three days in advance, leaving you plenty of time to organise child care.
The main screen shows a map of the state with the familiar colour-coded Fire Danger Ratings. You can quickly move through the next three days by using the buttons at the bottom of the screen to graphically show you the trends in the weather.
If a Fire Weather Warning is current, a warning icon and button will appear allowing you to view the warning. Daily Fire Weather Briefings are also accessible from the main page.
You can DRILL DOWN simply by touching a region of interest to see detailed information from the monitoring stations within the region. This information is combined by the agencies to give an overall rating for the region, but you can now see the detailed information from the monitoring station closest to where you live.
By viewing the data from the monitoring stations, you will get a new appreciation for how the Fire Danger Ratings are calculated. A thermometer graphically shows how the FIre Danger Index maps to a Fire Danger Rating. All the parameters used to calculate the Fire Danger Indices are also displayed.
Daily forecasts for each region are also viewable from the drill-down pages.

- Use the day buttons again to see how the monitoring station parameters change between days.
- Detailed forecasts for each region are accessible from the drill-down pages
- Refresh button to get the latest information from the Bureau.
Note that only Victoria is available currently. Other states coming soon!
